This is an ingenious magic trick.  The effect is dramatic because you bend a marked coin in plain view.

You have someone mark a dime or a penny, or even a quarter.  The coin is kept in view of the spectator, then magically, the coin rolls off your fingertips, and it is clearly and dramatically bent!  You hand the coin back to them for inspection. Best of all you are left clean.
